In 2003 Mark completed a foundation course in Art & Design at Limavady College and then went on to study a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. In his final year one of his projects was called ‘A Grand Day Out’. He chose the North Coast of Ireland as his subject, and literally went on ‘A Grand Day Out’, visiting iconic places like the Giants Causeway, Mussenden Temple and Bushmills Distillery to name but a few. After university he returned home and set up a studio near the Giants Causeway. His work to date is an extension of the ‘Grand Day Out’ project, and features various places of interest throughout Northern Ireland. This work is about reinterpreting familiar images which stand alone as individual pieces, but which also complement each other as part of a collection.
